أُعلن رسمياً عن اختيار الفيلم المصري القصير “قبل الظٌهر” “I Owe You A Touch “، للمشاركة في المسابقة الرسمية للدورة الحادية والعشرين من مهرجان السينما المستقلة الأوروبي (ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival)، والمقرر إقامتها في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس في أبريل 2026.
وينافس الفيلم في المسابقة الرسمية للأفلام القصيرة فئة “أفضل فيلم مستقل غير أوروبي”، ليكون بذلك الفيلم المصري الوحيد الذي يمثل السينما المصرية في هذه الفئة التنافسية الهامة لهذا العام.
ويُعد مهرجان (ÉCU)، الذي تأسس عام 2006، واحداً من أعرق وأهم المنصات العالمية الداعمة للسينما المستقلة. يشتهر المهرجان باحتضانه لصناع الأفلام المبتكرين الذين يتحدون القوالب السينمائية التقليدية، ولا يقتصر دوره على عروض باريس، بل يمتد عبر جولة عالمية (ÉCU-On-The-Road) تعرض الأفلام المختارة في أكثر من 80 دولة حول العالم.
يطرح فيلم “قبل الظٌهر” تشريحاً نفسياً جريئاً لرحلة شاب مراهق “سيف” يُحرم من الحق الإنساني البسيط في إلقاء نظرة أو لمسة وداع أخيرة بعد مأساة شخصية، ينطلق المراهق لتطهير نفسه، ليكتشف أن الطريق إلى الماء ليس سهلاً على الإطلاق.
الفيلم من بطولة مروان عاشور، داليا رمزي، محمد فضل، أحمد النبوي، خالد البساطي، نهى عماد، هاني عبود وهشام الراوي ويضم فريق عمل الفيلم نخبة مميزة من محترفي صناعة السينما، حيث تولى أدهم خالد إدارة التصوير، والمونتاج ياسر عزمي، فيما أشرف على الهندسة الصوتية هشام عتمان، وتولت ريوان محمد تصميم الديكور. كما تمت أعمال التلوين داخل استوديو Shift تحت إشراف الملون شادي وليد، بينما تمت أعمال الميكس والماستر وتصميم شريط الصوت داخل I SOUND Studio على يد محمد صلاح. الفيلم فكرة وإخراج مروان الشافعي، تأليف عبدالرحمن جابر، وإنتاج آلاء لاشين – AH Media Production.
وتعليقاً على اختياره في المسابقة الرسمية، صرح مروان الشافعي قائلاً: “ما هو المفهوم الحقيقي للطهارة؟ من هذا السؤال البسيط ينطلق الفيلم. في مجتمعاتنا العربية، يُعد تعبير الرجل عن مشاعره بصدق عبئاً ثقيلاً، وتصبح لغة ‘اللمس’ للتعبير عن الحزن العميق أو المواساة أمراً محاطاً بالكثير من الحواجز المجتمعية. بطل الفيلم يجد نفسه محاصراً بتلك القيود في أقصى لحظات الحياة ألماً، ليدفعه عجزه عن البوح نحو رحلة قاسية للبحث عن ‘الطهارة’ المادية. مشاركتنا في مهرجان بحجم ÉCU هي فرصة هامة لطرح هذا التساؤل الإنساني المعقد على جمهور عالمي يقدر السينما التي تكسر حواجز الصمت.”
يُذكر أن صانع العمل قد أخذ على عاتقه مهمة التوزيع المستقل للفيلم، إيماناً منه بضرورة خلق “حالة سينمائية” تصل بهذا العمل الشخصي إلى أبرز المنصات والمهرجانات الدولية.
Egyptian Film “I Owe You A Touch” Represents Egypt in the Official Competition at ÉCU Festival in Paris
It has been officially announced that the Egyptian short film I Owe You A Touch has been selected to participate in the Official Competition of the 21st edition of ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival, scheduled to take place in Paris, France, in April 2026.
The film is competing in the Official Short Film Competition under the “Best Non-European Dramatic Short” category, proudly standing as the only Egyptian film representing Egyptian cinema in this major competitive section this year.
Established in 2006, ÉCU is considered one of the most prestigious and prominent global platforms supporting independent cinema. The festival is renowned for embracing innovative filmmakers who challenge traditional cinematic molds. Its role is not limited to its Paris screenings but extends through a global tour (ÉCU-On-The-Road), showcasing selected films in over 80 countries worldwide.
I Owe You A Touch offers a bold psychological anatomy of a teenage boy, “Seif,” who is denied the simple human right of a final farewell look or touch after a personal tragedy. The teenager sets out to purify himself, only to discover that the path to water is not easy at all.
The film starring Marwan Ashour, Dalia Ramzy, Mohamed Fadl, Khaled Elbosaty, Ahmed Elnabawy, Hany Aboud and Hesham Elrawy. The film features a distinguished group of film industry professionals, with cinematography by Adham Khaled, editing by Yasser Azmy, sound engineering by Hesham Etman, and production design by Raywan Mohamed. Color grading was completed at Shift Studio under colorist Shady Waleed, while sound mixing, mastering, and sound design were handled at I SOUND Studio by Mohamed Salah. The film is written by Abdelrahman Gaber, produced by Allaa Lasheen (AH Media Productions), and is a “Concept and Directed by” Marwan Elshafie.
Commenting on the film’s selection in the Official Competition, Marwan Elshafie stated: “What is the true meaning of purity? The film stems from this simple question. In our Arab societies, for a man to honestly express his emotions is a heavy burden, and the language of ‘touch’ to convey deep grief or solace is surrounded by many societal barriers. The film’s protagonist finds himself trapped by these constraints in life’s most agonizing moment, pushing his inability to speak out into a harsh journey searching for material ‘purity’. Our participation in a festival the size of ÉCU is a significant opportunity to pose this complex human question to a global audience that appreciates cinema breaking the barriers of silence.”
It is worth noting that the filmmaker has taken on the rigorous task of independent self-distribution for the film, driven by his belief in the necessity of creating a “cinematic phenomenon” that brings this deeply personal work to the most prominent international platforms and festivals.
